I drive for a living (truckdriver). GA has told NC DMV to suspend my License On 7/14/20. I have been calling and driving

Good evening. I can help you with this matter, and I am happy to answer your questions and guide you in the right direction. Based on your notes, I understand that you have a CDL license and it is currently being suspended due to an FTA out of GA. For some reason, they cannot locate you in the system. My first question is, did you get a ticket in GA that you recall, and did you miss the court date or due date? If not, do you have the contact number of the court that NC says is saying that you did not show up? I am sorry for asking details, but with some additional information, we should be able to get to the bottom of this for you.

Good afternoon. I am very sorry for the delay in responding. I did not see that you had responded to me, and I was out of town with limited access to wifi. I am back now. Do you happen to have a copy of the letter from NC suspending your license? If you received a violation in Liberty County, GA for using a cell phone, and you just paid it, it would go on your record as a conviction for that. For CDL purposes, that is a very bad type of charge. Under the FMCSA, this is considered a serious violation. If you have certain other convictions within 3 years of this, it will disqualify your CDL for a period of time. This could be why you are suspended - actually, you may be disqualified as compared to suspended. Disqualified means you can still drive as a regular licensed driver. But if you were suspended, then you cannot drive at all. A letter from the NC DMV should give us better indication of exactly what it is and why. If you have that, you can attach it for my review. If it is for something else, we need to look further into it. If it is because of this, then we need to discuss trying to reopen the case in Liberty County, GA. Please let me know. Thank you.

Thank you. This notice appears to be only a suspension based upon a Failure to Appear status. Meaning, that you failed to appear on your court date or did not pay the fine on time. Do you recall if either of this happened on this ticket before you paid it? Did you receive any notices from the court in GA that you were late, or that you had to pay by a certain date?

You mean you don't recall getting the ticket at all? You mentioned that you paid it. How recently did you pay it, and how did you know about it to pay it? Was it just from receiving this notice? Do you have any receipts or documentation from the payment to them?
