Customer: Hired contactor to do kitchen, repair floor, paint in May 2021 he has not finished the job and I paid him. Gave money for refrigerator, stove top an microware, although not on paper. He destroyed wall taking down kitchen cabinet, broke tile in bathroom taking down wall paper, removed a shelf. Is there anything I can do?
JA: I just need to ask a few clarifying questions so that the Lawyer doesn't miss anything. To start, what state are you in? It matters because laws vary by location.
Customer: Leave in New Jersey
JA: How long have you been dealing with this issue? Where do things currently stand?
Customer: Since May 2021 till Saturday when I asked for my keys back, Its a one bedroom condo down at the shore. Do not live there
JA: Is there anything else the Lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
Customer: That's about it

Yes, you can sue him for fraud, negligence and breach of contract.  I see several claims.  It would be small claims or civil Court depending on the amount in question.  I would send him a letter demanding what you want and setting a dead line.  You can also potentially get a new expert in there to repair the issues and sue for those costs as well.  I am sorry this is happening.  Litigation may be necessary here.
