There is nothing to stop you setting up a trust to hold the Maori Land interests but not through the Maori land Court. However you will still need to deal with the court in registering the transfer of the land interests to the trustees. Is there a reason you do not want to set up the trust under Te Ture Whenua Maori Land Act as a whanau trust?
