You should get an independent report from another mechanic about the defects, and then under the Consumer Guarantees Act you can decide if this is a substantial problem, and ask for a refund and return the car. If the dealer refuses you can bring a claim in the Motor Vehicle Disputes Tribunal, where you do not need a lawyer, and the Tribunal can order a refund and or repairs to get the car up to standard
