Customer: I bought a vehicle last year from the get go I've had nothing but trouble it has needed multiple trips to mechanic I bought mechanical insurance from car dealer and my mechanic got ahold of the to get it quoted and to move forward now insurance company state the seller sold me insurance they should not have been allowed to so I'm left with a 3 to 4 thousand dollar quote to possibly fix issue but no guarantee what do I do I'm at wits end
JA: Because consumer protection law varies from place to place, can you tell me what state this is in?
Customer: New Zealand I apologise if I'm on the wrong page I looked up lawyers near me
JA: Have you contacted the seller or manufacturer?
Customer: Yes and they don't care they fixed the first issue now my mechanic said they have used sealant to cover up engine leaks
JA: Anything else you want the Lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: I just want to know going forward if I have a case to get my money back as the vehicle is through a loan and I don't want to pay for a vehicle I can't drive safely I feel I have been mislead

If you believe the car was not fit for purpose you can ask the dealer to take the car back and return your money. If they refuse there is a special tribunal go called the Motor Vehicle Disputes Tribunal where you ask the Tribunal to help
Customer

I tried to ask to return vehicle when first purchased they refused and offered to only fix one problem but the insurance deal has pushed me too far I have owned the vehicle for a year and it will be costing almost half the vehicle cost just to fix it what are next steps please
