Customer: He is at St Bedes College, he has been seeing a school councilor. He has been staying with me during lockdown and last school holidays. His mother has been threatening him via text and voice messages to take him out of school. Its all about her and she never asks how he is. He is scared of her and does not want to visit her nor stay with her during school holidays. She is very manipulative, she is very good at putting on charm in public and tells lies about Tremaine.

You could apply to the Family Court for a parenting order that he lives with you and you could get Oranga Tamariki involved to investigate if you think that is needed. At this age he is likely to have views about where he lives when not at boarding school, and that could be explained to the court and Oranga Tamariki. If you cannot afford a lawyer you can apply for legal aid.

His father lives in Australia and is married with 3 children under 4yrs old, plus he has a stepdaughter with his wife. Tremaine and I use to travel to visit his Dad twice yearly, now its totally impossible with Covid-19.
His mother is legally his caregiver, but since she kicked him out of his home 29th Jan 2020, she has not financially supported him, I have been paying for all his schooling and boarding fees etc.
He does not want to have anything to do with her. He is traumatized and is scared of her. He has very low self esteem and confidence.
I live near Winton in Southland. Tremaine is at St Bedes College in Christchurch.
His mother is going to stop him coming to stay with me during the next school holidays.
