Hi
I am a New Zealand lawyer based in Wellington and will help you with your question today. Please give me a minute to read the question
Chris The Lawyer, Expert
Are you sure whether this is a scam or not? Have you won money from this casino before? There can be very substantial legal barriers to sue a company overseas, and very difficult to collect.
Chris The Lawyer, Expert
Do you know where this casino company is located? On their website, do they have any process for making complaints?
Chris The Lawyer, Expert
I assume that you have a paper trail through your own bank records of money which you have transferred to them. But perhaps your next step is to collate your records showing the deposits or transfers, and telling them that you will sue them if they don't return your money and your winnings. In reality it would be difficult to sue them from New Zealand unfortunately
Chris The Lawyer, Expert
The other thing you can tell them is that you will spread the word and social media that they are a scam because of the way they are lying about the information and the accounts
Chris The Lawyer, Expert
Do you have a link for them?
Chris The Lawyer, Expert
How much did they tell you you had won?
Chris The Lawyer, Expert
The problem with dealing with overseas services like this is that you won't know where the company is actually located, so that you can sue them. They carefully concealed the details so they avoid this sort of problem. Even if you went to the Disputes Tribunal, they would not have the power to order the company to pay this winning
Chris The Lawyer, Expert
I certainly understand why you are feeling so annoyed about this. But these companies are often if not directly fraudulent, then a law unto themselves. They hide behind their overseas residency to avoid responsibility. If they were a New Zealand company then you would certainly have some good remedies. Unfortunately it is a risk in dealing with an overseas casino
Chris The Lawyer, Expert
I think that is your only option
Chris The Lawyer, Expert
That says to me they are a scammer
Chris The Lawyer, Expert
I do suggest you tell them you will post them as scammers on all social media
