I am 25 weeks pregnant and work as an electrician apprentice so end up doing all the hard crappy jobs like crawling under floors in tight spaces, heavy lifting like outdoor heatpumps (not daily), crawling in ceiling spaces which can also be twice the temperature outside, working up the top of 2 story high ladders and working on construction sights and unsafe buildings. My problem is that I dont know where I stand with finishing at work. My work colleagues wont let me not do some of the lighter duties and are rather ruthless when helping and put a lot of strain on my body as I have sciatic pain and a pulled muscle in upper ribs/back what am I entitled too if I leave before my employer chooses it's time for me to leave and will this affect my maternity pay etc
JA: Have you discussed this workplace safety issue with a manager or HR? Or with a lawyer?
Customer: My boss is aware of the dangers but is also short staffed. There is not any light duties at the workplace. I have not spoken to a lawyer as I am unaware who i can actually contact about this
JA: Are you an "at will" employee? Do you belong to a union?
Customer: No only a small business, and I dont know what "at will" means?

Customer: I haven't been able to be at work for about 3 weeks already due to the nature of the work, back pain, sciatica and exhaustion as we often work alot later than the finish time.

i went to an job interview they were happy in hiring me and were looking to start me the following day they were emailing me out an proposal agreement that afternoon for me to read all of a sudden im geting calls from extra staff that they have negotiated a hourly wage and i couldnt start work till i had gone in to their office and sign up with extra staff. i dont know who they were or what was going on the problem was i was on the way to to see them about a job on my own accord when she called me 922am i told her what i was doing as i was only 5 minutes away she advised me not to attend untill she called me back which she did 9.29am and told me to carry on to meet them and to call her back 9.30am im sent the address 10.18am i call her back to tell her im waiting on a proposal to be email to me and she couldnt believe what had happen and said she was going to call them. 10.23am she calling me demanding i cant start with and wants me to start the following monday i said no i want to start straight away i do not want to wait,she then wanted me to come down to her office to sign papers and take a drug test and that i will be getting $29.50 which was not was talked about at my interview as im waiting for the proposal to be emailed at no point did i ask or give her permission to speak on my behalf. because of this it set off alarm bells i ask her do i still have a job her answer was yes she then called me later that day and told me that they had decline my application for the job and that had got someone else that was more suited for the job i called the general manager and was told by these accusations were false that they still wanted me and that the problem was with extra staff and not me that they had blown the situation up and they were trying to sort it out with them for me they were trying to make money off me for doing nothing as a result of their interference i no longer have a job can you help me thanks David Tutara

Customer: just the lies ,deceit,and quick sign up and when confronted they drop me like a paper weight and wanted nothing to do with me
