I’m sorry, I’m not sure I understand. Are you saying he is or isn’t allowed to be in the U.S.?

Customer
Hi
img

LawProf71, Expert

Yes, he is allowed to be here, or yes he isn’t allowed to be here?

Customer
I dont know for sure her/his situation. So if its in both cases?
img

LawProf71, Expert

If he’s allowed to be here, I’m not sure I understand your question or concern, since he’d be just like anyone else living in the U.S.

And there would be no reason why you shouldn’t communicate with them.

Customer

where is it coming from if it wasn’t in the contract?
Customer
This is mediation agreement i need to sign
Customer
After host family were spying on me they complained to the agency about me. And now i have agreement
img

LawProf71, Expert

I’m very sorry to hear that. It sounds like there is a lot going on right now between you and your host family, including threats to take legal action against you for reasons I’m not sure I fully understand. If the requirement to not speak with people who are in the U.S. lawfully isn’t something you’ve already agreed to, but that your host family is trying to get you to agree to in mediation, I would strongly recommend that you speak with a lawyer who has experience in contracts (preferably Au Pair agreements). Unfortunately I cannot give you legal advice about your situation or the possibly employment consequences if you don’t sign that agreement.
Customer
Thank you for your help!
