Hello, and welcome to JustAnswer, my name is Henry.   I am an attorney with JustAnswer and I will do my best to assist you with your legal question regarding the letter your wife received from the federal government.   I am sorry that she is  going through this difficult situation.  Please allow me some time to review your question , and research your answer, so that I may better assist you.  I may also be assisting another customer now or between responses but I will get back to you soon.

In the meantime, for clarification, did she work for the federal government at the time in question?  And is this in regards ***** ***** overpayment from her employment?

Customer
she worked for the federal government at the US Consulate in Hermosillo Mexico while I was a full time employee assigned there in 2015. Six years ago. I did sue the government for discrimination while I was assigned there and it could be related.
Customer

Without detailed information (when, why, and how she is supposed to address it) she likely won’t know how to respond.  She can contact whoever sent the letter and try and get some clarity.  If the overpayment is confirmed then she’ll need to know who and how to make reimbursement to.
