Expert's Assistant chat
Customer: Hello, I'm a finance manager at a car dealership. We have a customer coming in Thursday that can't read(not vision related). They have a payee for bills and ssdi that will accompany them to ensure they know what they are purchasing, what is offered and understand what they're signing. Is there a form I can keep in the deal that both can sign documenting both parties were there and the purchaser understands and agrees to everything? I want to protect the customer to ensure they understand and agree to the purchase, also the dealership so it doesn't unwind if they just decide they don't want it.
JA: Hi. What state are you in? It matters because laws vary by location.
Customer: Massachusetts
JA: What steps have you taken so far?
Customer: The customer agreed to purchase. We got two approvals, one required proof of income. On her ssdi letter there were two names. I asked if she needed to sign as well. The customer said no it was because she couldn't read. The customer is going to bring her Thursday to be there when she signs.
JA: Is there anything else the Lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
Customer: Not at the moment.

My advice would be to not provide any sort of thing for them to sign because they can't read I would to be completely safe see if you could record everything and fully explain the contract to them and have them state on camera that they understand everything makes sense? Any other questions I can answer?
Customer
No, that's great advice thank you so much!
