Hello! My name is Debra (formerly known as Legal Ease). Thank you for your question. I'm reviewing it now, and will post back again shortly.

Debra, Expert

Is this about a work permit or study permit or visitor's visa?

Customer
I want to apply for my study by restoring my status
img

Debra, Expert

When did your study permit expire?

Are you planning on continuing school in September?

Customer
I have an offer letter and my post graduate work permit expired on 11th January but I gave it for extension and so now with my 90 days grace period I can stay in canada till the 23rd of this month
img

Debra, Expert

Do you mean that after your PGWP expired you applied to extend your visitor's visa so you can remain in Canada and attend school in the fall?

Customer
No I applied for the extension on PGWP and that got refused and so I need to have a status for which I am applying for study permit
img

Debra, Expert

But it is not possible to extend a PGWP unless it is was shorter than what you were entitled to because of an expiring passport. Was that the case?

Customer
No It wasn't and I was not aware of the extension part so I applied. But yes now I literally have a week and need to submit my papers asap so what is a way out for this?
Customer
Are still there?

Debra, Expert

So you can apply to extend your visitor's visa. It is COVID and dangerous to travel and on top of that you are planning to come to grad school in September.

So apply for the visitor's visa and even see if it is possible to apply for the study permit even though it is quite early.

There is no way to know how CIC will function during this time so try all you can.

Does that make sense?

Please feel free to post back with any follow-up questions you may have. If you don't have any then I hope I have earned a 5 star rating but if you don't feel that I have please don't hesitate to reply back and let me know what more I can do to assist you. Finally, please know that even after you rate me I will be here for you and you can ask follow-up questions if you think of them later on at no further charge of course.

Customer
but how do I apply for a visitor's visa? I cannot ssem to find the link for restoration of my status
Customer
I mean the offer letter says the course starts in the month of june

Then apply for a study permit this week, before the 90 days pass.

Customer
but I have to apply for my restoration of status too along with the study permit and the fees should be $200 plus $150 plus $85 for restoration, study permit and biometrics respectively. But for some reason I cannot find the link to do it. I could only find the link where it says apply to come to Canada as visitor, student or worker which in my case is different. Can you guide me through the links or where should I go on cic.gc.ca for restoration of status?
Customer
How much are your fees for the restoration of my status.?

Is there anything more I can help you with at this point in time?

Customer
Nope thanks
img

Debra, Expert

OK but can please rate me now? I get paid once a month and if I am not rated by the end of the month I will have to wait another month to be paid for this work.

Thanks
