Sorry to hear about your situation. Do you have a copy of your lease. You will need to review it. Generally, NO the landlord cannot raise the rent bc you have a roommate. But (as in the law) there are always exceptions. Leases usually contain the rules under which you rent your house or apartment, and if it says that every occupant needs to be on the lease, everyone needs to sign it. However, if a lease doesn't have this provision, then the only people who need to sign the lease are the people responsible for paying the rent. Also, if you live in an apartment based on income (socio-economic) then yes they could raise it.

Landlord/tenant agreement is a contract...if there is no specific provision saying they will raise rent if a roommate comes in (and they generally don't) then you are safe (otherwise it would be a breach of contract

There's no paper work at all I've been there 6 years an he is my soon to be husband I pay 100 extra an I've never been late she wont allow him to get mail there an I have black mold leaky ceilings broken toilet fire hazards I did get renters insurance also that's how bad it is she sends all his mail back to post office

I would stop paying the extra money. They cannot make you do that. You should also document the mold and any written correspondence (emails) you have with landlord about remedying it.
