My advice to you is to pay to have this expedited because right now, passport applications are taking a very long time to process. If you are needing to leave very quickly, you should call the nearest passport agency to you to attempt to get a meeting to process your application even quicker. Generally, there has to be a life or death emergency, but you should try if you need to leave the states quickly. Does that help?
