Thank you for the opportunity to discuss the issue of obligation as a guardian for your Ward.
What you are doing is a very nice thing. Congratulations.
Please tell me what is concerning you. Is she driving your vehicle and do you have insurance.
David, Expert
As her guardian you very well may be responsible for her driving.
You should insist upon substantial insurance and that you be Identified as an Additional Named Insured. Another protection is that the insurance carrier will be required to immediately notify you if the policy is canceled for any reason.
David, Expert
The ONLY way you are protected, and this applies to every aspect of your life, is to have adequate primary insurance and then a policy of Excess Insurance.
Excess insurance provides additional financial limits above those covered by the underlying policy. Unlike umbrella policies, excess insurance does not expand the terms, or scope, of the underlying policy, but rather, covers higher limits to safeguard against unforeseen, catastrophic claims and loss.
Are you sure that you are comfortable with, and do you understand the information I have provided. That’s important to me. I want to be sure that you fully understand all that been answered. Can you think of any other questions you would like to ask about the subject.
David, Expert
It isn't a question of liability but rather one of indemnity In the event that a catastrophe occurs.

Worst case is that you would be held liable for her conduct and would have to pay damages.
