Customer: If two parents are not married in the state of louisiana, can the father legally keep the child from the mother?
JA: Who currently has legal custody?
Customer: Would that be on the birth certificate?
JA: Is there a child custody order in place?
Customer: No
JA: Is there anything else the Lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
Customer: Bad of mow, police have not been called. But father is threatening mother that she cannot pick up her child or “it’s going to get ugly” as of now*

Unless the father has a court order of paternity, he is not legally the child's father.  You would have a superior right to the child as you are the only legal parent until a court says otherwise.  Call the police and get your child back.  He might be the father but a court has to prove he is the father and establish that for him to have any rights
