What is the allowable mileage reimbursement for the Guardian of a SNT for the benefit of the special needs person? New

Expert's Assistant chat
Customer: What is the allowable mileage reimbursement for the Guardian of a SNT for the benefit of the special needs person?
JA: What state are you in? Guardianship law varies by location.
Customer: New York
JA: Do the biological parents consent to the guardianship?
Customer: Biological parents are deceased and the Guardian is the oldest in the family.
JA: Is there anything else the Lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
Customer: One other question is we are a family of 9 children with the youngest having Downs Syndrome. A few years ago the Guardian had to spend $10,000 for legal advise to defend her position as the guardian as three siblings were contesting her job as the Guardian. Attorneys from NY state found no wrongdoing and the trustees of the SNT would not reimburse the guardian( oldest sibling) for her legal expenses.

The Internal Revenue Service today announced an increase in the optional standard mileage rate for the final 6 months of 2022. Taxpayers may use the optional standard mileage rates to calculate the deductible costs of operating an automobile for business and certain other purposes.

For the final 6 months of 2022, the standard mileage rate for business travel will be 62.5 cents per mile, up 4 cents from the rate effective at the start of the year.

You can claim this as mileage for reimbursement purposes.

Your lawyer here should file motion for legal fees where you were sued and prevailed and have court order other party to pay yours. Not sure why that wasn't done here.
