If that's the case, you would have an opportunity at the appeal hearing to convince them that you were either laid off or fired for no good reason (meaning, you were not fired for misconduct or that what you did was not misconduct).  If you are persuasive and your evidence supports your position, the employer's appeal would likely be denied.
