What state did you work in?

Customer
Missouri

Thank you for confirming. I will have to disagree. Both state and federal law make it unlawful for any employer to withold wages earned. With respect to vacation, no federal or state law in Missouri requires employers to pay out an employee's accrued vacation, sick leave, or other paid time off (PTO) at the termination of employment.

Your next step will be to file a wage comlaint form with the state.   The state will investigate and ensure you are paid all wages owed.  You can find instructions and the form here:

I do believe you are owed holiday pay as a governmental employee but not vacation pay.

Customer
ok, thanks for the help, the vacation is a lot more than holiday pay
