I reside in Seattle, WA and an employer that is based in Fairfax, VA just terminated by position that is here in Seattle. They gave me the option to Resign or I would be considered Terminated. They provided a Separation Agreement & Release with 2 weeks base salary & $5,000 for relocation as long as I signed their Release. Do I have any rights unique to WA state or pretty much sign in to get the money as both states are 'at will' states?
JA: Was this retaliation? Or based on age, race, religion, gender, or disability?
Customer: They said it was due to contract client complaint but I was also in the process of negotiating a raise in salary with them the past month due to very high cost of living here so not sure
JA: What kind of workplace is this (private sector, public sector, etc.)? How many employees?
Customer: They are a government contractor firm, private sector 255 employees
JA: Have you talked to a lawyer about the termination?
Customer: No, this is my first reach out to find out if I should sign this to get the money

Customer: No, I explained the reason they stated. I found out after coming back from a 2 week PTO time to be told the news they took my laptop, phone, etc. that day and had me file my expense report for the travel back before I left Fairfax, VA

My employer had me sign an employment contract which states that he agrees to pay $55/hr with at least 40hrs work expectancy in a standard week. Also it had this clause which states if i break the contract (which expires in April 2022) he can held me liable for upto $20,000 in compensation.
I am home physical therapist and drive to patient's home within Dallas, TX area about 100miles a day and see an average 6 clients a day and my employer is paying me $55/visit (not per hour). each visit is average 50minutes and i drive more than 3 hours a day which i do not get reimbursed for. I have talked to the employer about it but he says that that's how we agreed on and can't pay you hourly neither he will let me go saying he will sue me if i quit before contract expires. My questions are 1) can i quit and not having to pay that $20K?? 2)can i sue him for not paying me $55x40hrs a week $2200 since last 6weeks??

an employer was suppose to pay me in January 2019 for the work done, he kept saying that we are mailing checks on time but ofcourse i never received it, finally i go to their office in early May to collect it in person and guess what the check bounces with reason of not enough fund per my bank. no one is answering my phone or text anymore. its for $450

Customer: i want to find out how much can i sue the employer for besides $450 and $12 return fees from my bank

Can a manager be a boss for her fiance?

Customer: I do not know.In my workplace,the manager has a boyfriend,who favorits before other people .I just would like to know if it is ligal ?

Customer: it is not union The job is hourly.

Workers Comp Insurance claims in NJ can employer elect to pay the claim medical bills and wages directly and not report the claim to the insurance company?and can employer also ask employee to sign a waiver that employee will not sue the company ?

Hi, I would to know if it’s illegal for an employer to state that they sometimes do not pay their employees on their regularly scheduled pay days because they wait for their clubs to pay them before they pay us as employees. Is this legal? If I’m putting in work and not being compensated for it because corporate wasn’t paid by the clubs that they contract with that cant’ be right. I am owed this money regardless, yes? Also I’m in NJ if that helps with state law

Customer: I’m asking in theory. Nothign has happened yet. But i was told this is their process
