Are you saying you got the money for the tuition but did not go to school or pay the tuition?

Customer
College financial aid deposited tuition in my account but unfortunately because of pandemic situation i wasn't able to atten classes and i had to work more to look after my family members who lives outside the country.
Customer
Since i didn't atten classes i got withdrawn from the semester automatically and now the college is asking me for a return payment.
Customer
do you want me to send you a picture? of the mail i got from college?

AttorneyA, Expert

Well what did you do with the money?

img

AttorneyA, Expert

I do not need a picture of the document. I am just saying if you accepted the money and did not go to school, yes they will want it returned.

Customer
I sent lot of money back in Bangladesh. Some of my family members lost job and the situation was too worst for thrm like a year ago.
Customer
any way i have to return the money, Sooner or later?
img

AttorneyA, Expert

I am sorry to hear that but unfortunately I do not think the school will be sympathetic to this situation. You have to discuss that with the school and find out your options.

Customer
I emailed College president and he was about to review my file and after 2 months i am getting mail from college again.

It appears the college then just wants the money returned at this point. This is just something you have to discuss with the person who signed the letter or the financial aid office to see what your options are. If you can have a hearing then you can do that and explain your circumstances but you want to be prepared to figure out how to pay the money back because you did not use it for its intended purpose.

Customer
You are right. I am a Victim of a bad situation unfortunately. Wht will happen if i am not able to pay it in 30 days?
img

AttorneyA, Expert

I do not know again that is a question for the college.

Customer
It says a claim will be placed against my NC TAX refund. What is that?
img

AttorneyA, Expert

If you are getting a refund then they will take the money.

Customer
I can just talk to financial aid and delay the payment for 90 days?
Customer
I am able to pay it after 90 days not 30days
img

AttorneyA, Expert

Yes this is something you can discuss with them. They may be willing to wait until the 90 days if you all come to an agreement and you put it in writing.

Customer
I never wrote a hearing
Customer
Can you help me?
img

AttorneyA, Expert

I do not know what you mean. If it states that you can request a hearing did they have a form to complete or they just asking you to send in a written request? If so, you can put that in writing and ask them. I cannot help you write any documents this service just answers questions online.

Customer
Just asking me to send a written request
Customer
Thank you for your answers. I appreciate it

AttorneyA, Expert

Yes then that is what you have to do. Just state what you want, get right to the point and I imagine they will get back to you with a date.
