The complaint is regarding matters of conduct, including but not limited to physical and verbal intimidation, verbal aggression, and conduct unbecoming of a Columbia College Hollywood student.
JA: I just need to ask a few clarifying questions so that the Lawyer doesn't miss anything. To start, what state are you in? It matters because laws vary by location.
Customer: california
JA: Thanks for all these details. What steps have you taken so far?
Customer: they are caliming to proceed with out me beven though I have explaine a rest of this meeting with 3 schedueld times this is there respmce As stated, you are not authorized to view the original written complaint, nor do we provide copies of the original written complaint. Additionally, you will receive more details at the meeting, which we are trying to coordinate currently. We provide enough time to give you full details of the grievance, along with time for you to give your perspective. We also provide a full meeting recap with notes about everything discussed in the meeting. However, if you choose to not meet until you receive a detailed copy of the complaint despite the fact that this is against policy, we will consider this refusal to meet and will move forward with the process.Additionally, as this is a meeting to discuss a grievance, and not a directly class-related meeting, it operates outside of all syllabi. Therefore, it would take place outside of scheduled class time.
JA: Is there anything else the Lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
Customer: we feel this is a one side situation and without any knowledge of the actual concerns we feel we are being put into a disadvantage

JA: To start, can you confirm the state you're in? These matters can differ depending on location.
Customer: advisor at University of Michigan is intentionally and maliciously inflicting emotional distress on PhD student expected to defend dissertation in March. Advisor brought in 5 mill grant money. Dept of Kinesiology does not have checks and balance in place to support student. Recently, advisor jealousy sparked her to engage Dean and demand PhD student does not talk, interact or go interact with any other grad student im dept. All communications are to go through advisor. They removed access to labs and student peers from student- complete isolation. Help. Acts like this have been steady since February- please advise. (###) ###-####JA: Thanks for all these details. What steps have you taken so far?
Customer: She voiced concerns to dean of grad student I’m dept of kinesiology first- he never investigated and sent her a letter that was retaliatory- then she went to Oscar (ombudsman too), then she went to Racham, no relief - bullying continued, infliction of emotional distress, isolation, and further retaliation. Oscar and Racham agree dept of Kinesiology is not students Allie, however, they are powerless to intervene- one of the staff told student the dean, Broglio, made a very ugly comment that she would not repeat. This pattern of intentional infliction of emotional distress continues to escalate each time student acquiesces. We have been working with an attorney - and she agrees with everything including the idea that bullying won’t stop and will

my oldest son ended up getting in trouble at school.I guess there was a kid that pulled another kids pants down in the lunch line and then that kid pulled my kids pants down. My son turned around and thought the kid behind him did it. He waited until they were walking into class then de-panted that kid. That kid ended up not having underwear on so they looked at it pretty harshly on my son. They tried to give my son 15 days of ISS and they said they ultimately decided not to put him in some reform program at a different district school that is basically for troubled kids because they looked at it as a sexual act because of the nudity (even though it was accidental). My wife and I said they were going completely overboard and threatened to contact a lawyer. They said they would write it up as horseplay and dropped the suspension down to 10 days with a chance to make it only 8 days with good behavior. Come to find out the two kids that started this only received 3 days of ISS.
My son has never been in trouble before. He also has an IEP and is missing valuable time due to this.
JA: Where is this occurring? I only ask because laws can vary by state.
Customer: I've also called Tuesday and Thursday this week to talk with the VP that suspended him and he has yet to return my VMs I'm also waiting on a call back from his counselor all week. It is occurring in Montgomery TX at Montgomery Jr High
JA: What steps have they taken so far?
Customer: They have given him 10 days of ISS he is on his 5th day today. The other 2 kids that started it were given only 3 days
JA: Is there anything else the Lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
