So I haven't heard back from you in a while on this, which is no big deal!
Without the information I asked for in my request, I can only give you this general answer:
So the short answer to your question here is you can file one in CA.
California has several types of restraining orders people can file. One of them is a domestic violence restraining order. This overprotects individuals from a spouse or former spouse; person you are dating, or person you have dated; lover; mother or father of your child; anyone closely related to you by blood, marriage, or adoption (example: mother, father, child, brother, sister, grandparent); or person who regularly lives in your home. The Sacramento Courts lay out the forms and steps that are needed for a person who wants to get a DVRO. These forms are good outside of Sacramento as well - https://www.saccourt.ca.gov/restraining-orders/domestic-violence.aspx

Thanks! So yes, you could file it in CA and it's better because CA is more likely to gran tit, and that is where the person lives.

So it depends on your county, but generally you can fill out the paperwork, and have it either mailed, faxed, or you can hire someone to deliver the paperwork in CA and to serve it. I recommend a process server. You could go to thumbtack.com, and find one for like $100.
