My partner has been incarcerated at Lompoc minimum security satellite camp for 2 weeks now. They gave him shoes that do

Expert's Assistant chat
Customer: My partner has been incarcerated at Lompoc minimum security satellite camp for 2 weeks now. They gave him shoes that do not fit and his feet are bleeding and he has blisters, and they won't issue him shoes that fit. They have also withheld his mental health medications for two weeks now. I submitted a complaint online, and they said they "talked to him". My partner confirmed, the only person he talked to was a psychologist who told him she can't help him with his meds. No one has addressed his feet/ shoes. Is there anything that can be done?
JA: Where is this occurring? I only ask because laws can vary by state.
Customer: California
JA: Are there any relevant dates or timelines to consider with this?
Customer: December 19th to present
JA: Is there anything else the Lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
Customer: No

Does your partner have a lawyer representing him in his case he’s in custody on?

Customer
A public defender who has not accepted his request to communicate since he arrived
Customer
you there?

Lawyerlady, Expert

Ok. So a lawyer needs to file a motion with the court to address his medical condition: you have 3 options

1. Hire a lawyer to file the motion

2. Call the public defenders office and keep trying with them

3. Have your partner write a letter to the court explaining the situation. But that is not going to be as effective as having the lawyer do it

Customer
Ok thank you! what about his bleeding feet / shoes?

Lawyerlady, Expert
