Okay and the other person just randomly decided they want cameras?

Customer
Its been a ongoing fight between us. because I didn't want her husband to move in for the past year she said she had a protective order against him. so he wasnt supposed to know where we lived etc. but she has moved him in . i keep asking for what is mine which is half of the driveway the garage we both we supposed to decide of furniture that didn't happen she used all of her furniture. so everyweek it's a new thing last night it was this camera all of a sudden. we agreed to the ones outside but didn't want any inside until this

Thank you for your patience!

Unfortunately, EITHER of  you can choose to put up cameras ... but ALSO either of you can decide to take them down.

img

LivvyEsq, Expert

In other words, if she decides to put up those cameras, you'd be free to take them down when you come home.

img

LivvyEsq, Expert

Obviously that's not a great way to live AT ALL ... so you may want to consider speaking with the landlord if you want to try to break your lease.

img

LivvyEsq, Expert

You could also speak to the landlord about having her evicted - since she moved him in without EITHER your consent OR the landlord's consent.

Customer
I can unplug them when I am home
img

LivvyEsq, Expert

Yes, but what happens is she can just plug them back in so obviously that doesn't make for a great living situation.

img

LivvyEsq, Expert

But she can't just move someone in without the consent of the landlord (and without your consent).

Customer
I thought so. I went over the lease. I thought so. regardless I think it is safe living there considering she has threatened to beat me up for stating I would take them down

At that point you'd want to have a discussion with the landlord and decide if you want to file for a restraining order. Sometimes, when it's a safety issue, the landlord will let you out of the lease - but in MOST cases they won't consider doing that unless there's a restraining order in place.
