Customer: Is it possible to get a restraining order on short notice against my adult children, who are claiming I am not able to handle my own affairs, have kept me essentially isolated in this facility through the Christmas and New Year Holidays, with any objection on my part met with complete isolation. Family members met with retaliation of no visits from them and threats and warnings to other family members to maintain my isolation. Is this not elder abuse in and of itself? Initially, they were even separating my dog from me, until I insisted that I would pursue whatever it took to get him here with me, and they would have to see to his needs being taken care of. I noted that your office may not be available for providing help until Jan 4.
JA: Is there ongoing abuse or harassment? How recent?
Customer: Ongoing in that I am being kept in this facility and the family member who was coming to help me was given threats of retaliation if she did this.
JA: Were the police called? What happened?
Customer: No, the police were not called. I just didn’t think it was appropriate. Is this the process I should use?

Customer: Realistically, I can’t think of anything, however I’m pretty upset. I am 79 years old. I think my mind is sound, however am I the best judge? Online cognitive testing shows good results for my being of sound mind.
