My Fiancé had purchased a car with a family owned dealership, when the sons owner dropped the car off to us and we realized that something was wrong with it , we took the car the next day to get it checked by a mechanic they told my Fiancé that the car has 1 been in a accident (was never told that) he told him the carfax was clean, on top of it already being in a accident it had several other things wrong with it , it wasnt suitable to even pass a inspection, that he honestly didn’t want us to drive off with the car because he felt our safety was at risk , we went back up there told them everything that’s wrong evan showing them a print out on what was all wrong that the
JA: What state are you in? And is a local attorney or other consumer protection advocate helping with this?
Customer: mechanic printed out a recipe and sent a email with everything wrong . They told my fiancé that he will refund him for the 10,000 he put down wrote him a check for 9,925 because he said we needed to pay for the miles we drove so took 75 out , he put his check they wrote for him in his back and it’s telling him that they are putting a longer hold on the check because the other bank my not honor the check .
JA: Have you contacted the seller or manufacturer?
Customer: Yes my aunt has contacted them told them that her nephew purchased a vehicle from the told him the would refund it wrote a check and now his back is saying on the dealership bank my not honor it, told my aunt that it cleared from his a account but it’s not available in his account they keep changing the day it may be available, my aunt told the owner we will be up there Monday to show what his bank sent and to hopefully handle this with out trying to get a lawyer, check said it was for a refund , it was available in his account for a day the bank took it out and put another hold on it say it may not be honored by the back. At this point I’m trying to see what is there he can do to get this all resolved with not trying to get lawyers involved when he told my fiancé he would just give him a refund

Customer: They first asked my fiancé to Zelle the money but it only let him send 2000, so the son of the owner told my fiancé to then cash app the money, was unable to send it on there so went to get a cashiers check for 8000 and gave it to them the day the son brought the car to my fiancé, not only the check is basically a bad check , when my fiancé first went the got him financed through a bank and lied to them say he worked as something but my fiancé told him he is disabled. Nothing seem really legitimate for what I say it was all rushed and never explained anything
