Debra, Expert

I am sorry to hear of this difficult situation.

Have you paid them both? Did you hire them both yourse

Customer
The tiling company have been fully paid, the plumber has an outstanding invoice I have not yet paid and will not pay until this is resolved.
Customer
I hired the tiling company myself, the plumber was contracted via my GC
Customer
we are clear on exactly what the issue is and therefore how it should be resolved but neither party will accept that it is their error
img

Debra, Expert

Does your GC know whose error it was?

Customer
Not really. He thinks its the tile company but isn't 100% sure

Debra, Expert

All you can do is either refuse to pay the plumber until this is resolved or else pay the plumber and sue the title company and the plumber and let the court decide who is liable to you for the damages.

Do you see what I mean?

Please do not hesitate to ask any follow up questions related to this response and know that I will respond as soon as I can.

Customer
I understand. Is there not some kind of ombudsman who would have a third party come and look and determine fault? I am new to canada so don't know how this works here.

Debra, Expert

There isn't. It would be great if there was. You have an excellent idea but unfortunately it just does not exist.
