Good evening – sorry to hear of the situation. You need a valid visa to enter Canada.

Customer
But sir I can't enter to Canada with my study permit ?
img

Joey, Expert

You need a valid visa to enter Canada. A study permit gives you the right to study while in Canada.

img

Joey, Expert

Normally they are both issued at the same time.

Customer
but I have a valid study permit because o extend my vida to study in Canada
img

Joey, Expert

To enter Canada, you need a valid visa of some kind.

Customer
What can I do then ? I'm already on the way to Canada, do you think i can try arriving there? Or what can I do ?
img

Joey, Expert

Have you entered Canada before?

Customer
I'm studying there i can here for an emergency travel
img

Joey, Expert

Is this your first time coming to Canada?

Customer
No
img

Joey, Expert

Did you have a visitors visa or electronic travel authorization (eTA when you last came to Canada?

Customer
I had a visa but it expired November 2020 but then I extend my visa, but because I was inside of Canada they just give me the study permit so I only have that
img

Joey, Expert

Possibility you might be denied entry if you don't have a valid entry visa.

Customer
Even if I have my valid study permit ?
Customer
What can I do at Canada if they said I need a visa ? There is something they can do because I have valid my study permit ?
img

Joey, Expert

You need to apply and receive either a visitors visa or a ETA. Are you sure one was not issued to you with your study permit?

Customer
I was inside of Canada when I apply to the extension, so I only receive the study permit, but I never get the stamp at the passport like last time
img

Joey, Expert

Well, crossing fingers your visa was extended/new one was issued for you.

Customer
How can I know if my visa was extended too ?
And if no, os that possible that they just extended my study permit?
img

Joey, Expert

We're hoping a revised/new ETA was done.

Customer
There is any way I can know that ?
img

Joey, Expert

It would be with your papers.

Customer
I would like to know what are my options if they deny my entry to Canada but I'm already in Canada?
img

Joey, Expert

If you are denied entry, you would need to leave the country and apply for a visa elsewhere.

Customer
Hello, thank you but at the end I was able to enter Canada with my study permit only
img

Joey, Expert

Sounds like they extended your visa automatically. Glad to hear!
