Customer: Hello DebraI am trying to prepare my evidence for the second dispute resolution hearing I will apply for which is to request monetary compensation for each breach of quiet and enjoyment. The furnace is one of the big ones. As I was going over the new evidence supplied by the respondents, I noticed in one of their documents they omitted Ashton Service Group as one of the technicians that responded to a furnace service call, but it was because of this technician the furnace was shut off. The landlords insisted this furnace was safe and it made up by me. The landlords were responsible for this furnace being shut off on January 29 but a new one was not going to be installed until February 2 and they knew this at the time as well. I asked them in the rental unit why the furnace was turned off and they did not respond, so I sent them an email yesterday and took screen shots for you to view. They continued to evade my question, and then in the final email i stated my intention, that I had evidence why the furnace was turned off on January 29 and was hoping they would be kind enough to tell as well. I then went on to say that I will not be asking about the furnace anymore, rather I will bring it up at the hearing. I maintain that you are not allowed to shut off a furnace that's safe, and they maintained it was safe so why did they shut it off knowing that one will not be installed for another four days? I am trying to set them up for the next dispute resolution hearing.

Well I don't think the recording does show what you're saying because this he said that they did not find any CO2 emissions. He's really saying it looks like it's probably safe but the owner decided we better turn it off possibly just in case. That's what I got from the recording to be honest.

no it was not dangerous at the moment, but the risk to keep it operating and have those probelsm was too great

I think the tech persuaded them to shut it down and replace it, because you can't reverse the rust damage, when this occurs tuypically a new furnace is needed

I do know that the landlords only decided to get a new furnace because Ashton strongly recommended it, explaining what the corrosion meant

Well it could be that they think you're too difficult or it could be that they decided that they can't afford the house that is getting too old for them to afford or they could be just wanting to get rid of you.
