Customer: yes, after having consulted with an MPP, we were given poor advice on how to go about the process. We have had several rounds of paperwork filed and approved but now the government seems to have lost all of it. I have reached out to another MPP who said they would help but have since stopped communication

Please let me know the basic facts and then your specific legal question. But it doesn't make sense to reach out to an MPP because that's the wrong government. That's the provincial government.

I had reached out to our MPP in desperation after not being able to get through on the immigration phone number and not getting helpful responses via e-mail. We are at a standstill with trying to get my boyfriend's permanent residency. The government has not been helpful to say the least.

The MPP's office sent us a form to fill out granting them permission to look into his case and help us out. We filled out the form and after having missed 2 phone calls (I was at work) they stopped responding to my emails.

It would be more prudent to speak to your member of Parliament and not your member of provincial Parliament so your MP because that's the same level of government. But if you already have someone from your MPP working on this that may be good. You can also send in a web form to the government.

What you should understand is that our government, at all levels, is in total chaos because of this pandemic. Nothing is working right and things very well may be going from bad to worse for sometime so you have to prepare yourself for a very long delay unfortunately.

Absolutely...this process has been a nightmare from the get go and has only gotten worse since the pandemic. I am aware that this isn't going to get better or easier anytime soon. I will take a look into the form you sent and hopefully we can get some additional information.
