Customer: Hi Debra I had another question. If I was hanging out with my friends in a parking lot and a driver pulled up and got out of their vehicle and started taking pictures of us then left, meanwhile a couple of days later I get a call from a detective saying that the person that took photos was a Shoppers employee and the reason he was taking pictures was because there was an incident that very night where someone robbed his Shoppers store and he thought it was us and he decided to come to us, take pictures call the police and accuse me of stealing.I wanted to know if I would I have a case against Shoppers since their employee made a false accusation and a false police report about me?

I know your question is important to you and I will be giving it the time and attention it deserves.

I am sorry to hear of this difficult situation.

Did the police determined that there is nothing to charge you for?

Customer

Then you can report this to the owner of the Shoppers where this happened but there's really nothing to sue them for because you didn't suffer damages in the end. You can only sue successfully for damages if you can prove that you suffer them.

Do you see what I mean?
