What are the charges that have been laid? Have you been given a date for a first court appearance?

Have you retained a criminal lawyer?
BrandonS216, Expert
You may wish to consider doing so-- particularly as you are now outside of the jurisdiction.
At that first appearance, you and/or your lawyer will likely be provided with initial disclosure and screening details as to what the Crown prosecutor will be seeking by way of sentence in your matter.

That depends on the terms of your bail. Were there any whereabouts restrictions placed?

You should look at contacting a Canadian criminal lawyer for specific advice. You want to make sure that you are not in contravention of any of the conditions of your bail so as to avoid accumulating further charges (i.e. breach, fail to comply, etc) as doing so can complicate the handling of the defence for your substantive charge.

There may be nothing there yet if the charges are too recent. As I said, you may not receive any initial disclosure until your first appearance.
