Please note that the experts don’t text so there may be a bit of a delay. If you don’t answer back for a while I may not be online when you do but I will never desert you and will check back often. As well, as I am working from home it is possible that I will be interrupted but I will always return back as soon as I can.

I am sorry to hear of this difficult situation.

Are you saying that since November the old landlord has been taken the rent money from your account?

And is this how he took the money for rent earlier or then was payment made only through cheques?

Customer

Well this sounds like fraud to me. So here are my suggestions:

First, call the police. This former landlord is stealing money from your account by using the information they have on a check knowing that you don't owe them any money. It is theft and fraud. Two

Call your bank and tell them what has happened. Make it clear that this person has no entitlement to your money and that they used information on a cheque fraudulently to gain access to your bank account and has taken out money that they are not entitled to. Provide them with the police report number. They should get that money back because there's no authorization from you that would allow this man to take the money from your account.

In the meantime though you do all the rent to the new landlord.

Does that help?
