Please note that the experts don’t text so there may be a bit of a delay. If you don’t answer back for a while I may not be online when you do but I will never desert you and will check back often. As well, as I am working from home it is possible that I will be interrupted but I will always return back as soon as I can.

I am sorry to hear of this difficult situation.

Can you please clarify what happened a bit more. I read over your post many times and I just I'm not quite able to understand what happened.

Thanks

Can you please answer my question? I've asked three times now. As I've said;

Can you please clarify what happened a bit more. I read over your post many times and I just I'm not quite able to understand what happened.

Customer
Basically what happened I agreed to a financial agreement with a financial co. With the the terms of $1000 down via a bank draft and 12 post dated cheques for 150.00 ea. This was completed to move forward now I want to pay the balance off and they are saying they dont have the bank draft so I will have to pay the full amount of the taxes $2692.24. I just want to know what my legal position is at this time?

It sounds like they are scammers.

What you can do is send them a letter by Registered Mail. In the letter set out the facts and demand that they allow you to pay off the balance. Include proof that you paid them them the $1000. Give them a deadline.

Tell them if they fail to comply you will commence legal proceedings and then will be seeking interest and your costs.

You can then sue them in Small Claims Court and self-represent. If it gets that far and you find you need some help as you go through the process you can always post on this site again and I can assist you further.

Does that help as a starting point?

Customer
that helps very much thank you for your help.
