The landlord is entitled to reject a lease transfer for whatever reason they choose. However, if they continue to reject these, then you may have grounds to stop paying rent as the landlord is being unreasonable. I recommend that you contact your local landlord/tenant board immediately to ensure your rights are being met.

This does not seem to be a legitimate reason and that is why I recommend that you speak to your local landlord/tenant board. You may have grounds to stop paying rent if your landlord is not being cooperative
