I am sorry to hear this.

Have you been giving him notices when he pays rent late?

So the better approach is to provide N5s each time.

Persistent late payments of rent is a ground for eviction. You won't be able to deal with this until the emergency measures are lifted though.

You can call the landlord tenant board tomorrow to discuss.

Here is a link to the information you will need:

http://www.sjto.gov.on.ca/ltb/contact/

Does that help as a starting point?

Please feel free to post back with any follow-up questions you may have. If you don't have any then I hope I have earned a 5 star rating but if you don't feel that I have please don't hesitate to reply back and let me know what more I can do to assist you. Finally, please know that even after you rate me I will be here for you and you can ask follow-up questions if you think of them later on at no further charge of course.

For persistent late payment of rent you have to show at least three in recent times.

Customer
it started prior to this covid 19 emergency and now has not paid 2 months rent March and April. Do you know when this rent emergency situation is over?
Im paying mortgage, maintenance fees.

I don't know when it will end but I am not optimistic that it will end soon.
