Expert's Assistant chat
Customer: Hihi! Is it possible in ontario to find out if someone else has a driver's licence?
JA: Have you talked to an Ontario lawyer about this?
Customer: No. I was awarded 11000$ in a small claims court. Defendant (my ex) hides all his money under his moms name so I cant get that. He is now claiming he bought a sports car but he had his license revoked years ago.
JA: What steps have you taken so far?
Customer: Nothing since court. He told the judge he has nothing and that was it. But if I can prove he has a licence and car i can move forward to putting a lien on it.
JA: Anything else you want the Lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: No

I am sorry to hear of this difficult situation.

Did you have the defendant subpoenaed to court to testify under oath about his assets?

Customer
Twice. First time he offered 5000 cash @ 500/mo. I countered 8000 but went nowhere from there. He hasnt had a valid driver's license in the 10yrs I've known him. Never had a bank acct. Used cash stores. He reinvested 150000$ in the condo him and his mother r in now. But again nothing in his name. So if I can find out if he has a licence then i can put a lien on any vehicle he has. Otherwise I'm SOL.

But his having a driver's licence isn't going to help you find any car.

What you need to do is retain a licenced private investigator.

They will find out if he has a car.

Then you can have it seized and sold.

Does that make sense?

Customer
I'll try that. Thx
