I am sorry to hear of this difficult situation.

Where is the child living and are you saying that you want to become th permanent guardian of your granddaughter?

Customer
No problem at all. I live in Maple Creek Sask and my Granddaughter is living in Medicine Hat Alberta. I want her here with me how ever I can make that happen weather it be private guardianship or permanent...she was recently diagnosed with FASD. Child Services now was to do a permanent guardianship so there is funding for her.

Will the biological parents consent? What do child services say?

Customer
The biological parents will consent yes. Child services is is all over the place...first telling me I can apply for private guardianship and that my home study was completed...then the next meeting they tell me is hasn't been completed but that I could apply anyways and say a home study pending....then the FAS diagnosis comes and then they want to do permanent guardianship so child has funding.
Customer
The other set of Grandparents live in med hat and are Kincade for the children during the second TGO they want guardianship of the other child and from day one we have all agreed to this as we are only an hour from each other
Customer
Child services says they have put in a request to Sask side but Sask side says they haven't got a request
Customer
Iam confused about that amount other things

Here is the answer to your query. Please do not hesitate to ask any follow up questions related to this response and know that I will respond as soon as I can.

It seems like they should all be able to be resolved because everyone is on the same page. Both the sets of grandparents agree and the biological parents agree and child protective services agree so the delay doesn't really make a lot of sense and it's very unsettling for everyone.

If this doesn't move along quickly soon then your best next step would be to retain a lawyer that specializes in family law and have the family or just step in without being too aggressive it for us and simply saying that this needs to be resolved or you will proceed to court.

Does that make sense?
