You opted me out and I could not respond. I don't know why.

A conditional discharge stays on your record for three years.

So you can tell the employer that you don't have a criminal record in that the charge was dealt with in an alternative way. You can say that there was no criminal record and that the X will be gone in 3 years from the day you received the discharge.

You can say you are happy to do another record search then but they should understand that there has NOT been a conviction.

Does that help?

That might have worked but my employer is requesting info in writing and will not just take me word for it

Then you can get something from the courthouse because there will be a court file and you can get whatever is in it printed out or if you had a lawyer acting for you you can get something from your lawyer.
