Hi! My name is***** a solicitor in Australia, and I’m happy to help you.

If you having difficulty with the insurance policy, what do you need to do is find out which condition in the policy insurance company is relying on. Once you have work that aspect out, then you can raise a claim back to the insurance company challenging the policy condition.

Customer
They are saying that with wear and tear the roof has deteriated & that the claim is not valid on there part . and our insurance is not covered for that. But I thought my lap top being under where it was leaking was covered . We do understand that the roof might not be covered , but not the lap top

What you can do is bring in an independent building inspector to challenge the insurance company. Then subject to their report run a case through the Victorian civil administrative tribunal.
