Customer: What exactly is rule/law 33 N?
JA: What state is this in? It matters because laws vary by location.
Customer: SA
JA: What steps have been taken so far?
Customer: I'm not sure - my son who is in prison has asked me to check. His lawyer has quoted rule 33 N to a judge/magistrate, but what this means is a mystery to both of us.
JA: Is there anything else the Lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
Customer: My son has been refused bail for breaching bail and parole conditions. However he has now been in jail in what seems to be a remand situation as his hearing /trial is apparently scheduled for mid 2022. This will probably mean that he has served whatever sentence he may be given.

Hi! My name is***** a solicitor in Australia, and I’m happy to help you.

Do you know why the bail has been refused and what type of breach has occurred?
Customer
I think he failed to attend a parole meeting - he was in hospital at the time but this apparently was not taken into account, He also failed to keep to time lines as in curfew.

Your son just needs to explain to the parole officer/court his reasons and then that will be taken into account with respect to the breach.
Customer
I have a suspicion that I am not party to all of the facts in his case. He asked me to ask why his lawyer would mention rule/law 33 N involving the prosecution and the implications attached.

What you need to do is make an application to get a copy of all the courts transcripts.
Customer
I was not aware that I could do that. To whom would I apply?
