Expert's Assistant chat
Customer: Can anyone ring the police to report an breach of an AVO
JA: Is there ongoing abuse or harassment? How recent?
Customer: No police place one on my partner about 6 mths ago. My neighbour says if she sees him at my place she will call the police, will they arrive and search my place
JA: Were the police called? Was there an arrest for violating the protective order?
Customer: He attacked me I went to the police and gave a statement, the police placed a AVO on him. We have worked through our problems and are going to apply to the courts to get it revoked. He has been at my home a couple of times and I don't want him arrested and placed back into jail. My neighbour has told me if she sees him at my house she will call the police on him
JA: Is there anything else the Lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
Customer: I have called the police who were involved with me when he was in jail to see what so I do to get the AVO revoked. The police will not revoke it and they also will not support me in getting the order revoked

Hi, I am John Melis, the solicitor. I am in Australia. Concerning your matter where you cannot amicably resolve this with the other party through the assistance of lawyers, I do suggest that you file and application in the local court to bring this matter to an end. You can run your case, and you do not need lawyers. Therefore you'll save costs of this particular aspect. There are help menus on the court's website, which you can use to prepare your case.

I want to thank you for taking the time to speak with me today.

A third-party can report a bridge, and police can search your house if they are invited in or there is a search warrant.
