Customer: I am in Qld on the Gold Coast
JA: What steps have you taken so far?

JA: Is there anything else the Lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
Customer: I was the ONLY person to attend the AGM last Month and the BC managers said there has not been a quorum at an AGM for this complex in more than 10 years, so it was deemed a non meeting I have put in a request to instal a carport on my property in keeping with the current buildings and it was denied by the committee , but there is no committee

Hi! You’re speaking with John Melis, a solicitor in Australia.

If you cannot resolve the matter with the body corporate management the way they are handling the complex, you can raise a claim with the Queensland civil administrative tribunal.

The Queensland Civil Administrative Tribunal "QCAT" is perfect for meditating disputes. It brings parties together to discuss the issues involved.

In most cases, the matter will settle before the final hearing.

You can download the application from the tribunal website.

There are help menus on the website that will guide you to complete the application.

After you lodge your application, you will receive an email from the tribunal with the next steps.

Thank you , I am wondering how things are getting voted for approval or not if there is no committee members. As I was the only one present at the AGM It was suggested to me to nominate myself to be a committee member by the BC manager i beleive there is a "finance committee" with a president and a treasurer is this normal? I have sent two emails to the BC to ask if I am on the committee but they dont get back to me
Customer
IT WOULD BE BETTER BUT AT THIS STAGE I DONT WANT TO PAY OUT ANYTHING UNTIL i KNOW IF IM ON THE COMMITTEE OR NOT

You can call an extra ordinary general meeting, with an majority vote of members.I know you put so much time and effort into this, and if you follow the steps as suggested above, it will give you a direction to go.If there is anything else, please let me know.Does this help with your question today?
