Hi, I am John Melis, the solicitor. I am in Australia. Thank you for your post today. You provided excellent information.

Your next step would be to attempt mediation with a dispute resolution practitioner. You can locate a dispute resolution practitioner by Googling dispute resolution practitioner in your immediate area. When you engage the dispute resolution practitioner, you ask for their work agreement. The work agreement will explain what the process is and their charges that will be applied. I do suggest that you telephone several practitioners to compare services and prices. You have a favourable position, and your next step is to contact a dispute resolution practitioner.

I want to thank you for taking the time to speak with me today.

You can raise a claim in the court for compensation. You may lodge a claim in court. The court’s website has a forms section to download the documents to commence the claim against that other party. There are practice notes on the court’s website. There are various resources also, which you could utilise to aid you in completing the claim form.Once you have submitted the claim form to the court, you must serve the other party with the documents. You will receive email communications from the court, and you need to review these communications carefully, as they give you instructions on what to do next.It was my pleasure to help you today, and I thank you for chatting with me.
