Customer: International Airfare booked with Virgin Airlines
JA: What state/territory is this in? It matters because laws vary by location.
Customer: November 2019 I made a booking with Virgin S A
JA: What steps have you taken so far?
Customer: In November 2019 I purchased a Business Class airfare with Virgin Australia.
JA: Anything else you want the Lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: Sorry sent too soon! My booking was Brisbane to New York. As Covid hit this flight was cancelled. I have been in regular contact with Virgin. First time they told me they would not know anything until April (2020). Then I was told December! I have tried to contact them to no avail. I've even sent emails. No response! When I go into Virgin online to look up my booking it just shows up as no booking! I have not received any travel credits or payment credits. So I am now at my wits end as I am $8590.30 out of pocket and cannot get any explanations! Thanks & Regards *****

If it was paid by credit card apply for a merchant charge back

You send all the emails you have to show it was cancelled and the Bank will get your money back

Here is the information for you

https://www.afca.org.au/coronavirus-covid-19-pandemic-support-hub/banking-and-finance/factsheet-chargebacks

It is cheaper than suing and faster.

I hope this assists and answers your question today
