Been cut off carers allowance, they stated because my daughter is now 16 aduly my husband has to be her carer bc she

doesnt make sense. I was getting it for her as child, she needed me more then. Y change it now she is an adult to him. On a technicality. I still do her primary caring. Plus 16 isnt an adult

Concerning your important matter what you can do to protect your legal rights is to request for an internal investigation into the matter of your file.

You will have to make that request in writing and seek and urgent reply on the matter.

Additionally, what I do also suggest is that you have your accountant complete a financial assessment on yourself providing a balance sheet and a statement of finances with a covering letter which explains the history of your financial affairs as well as your current circumstance. This correspondence will become very important in dealing with presenting your facts to Centrelink.

As you appreciate sometimes centreline can be administratively overloaded and this is why causes the problem and the file is put to the side, and unless you push it hard you will not get a reply,

There are many people in similar circumstance as you are in with Centrelink, but if you don’t give up and keep pushing you will make it through the the admin process and get the resolve you seek.
