I attempted to purchase a product on line from TVSHOP, I provided my card details but they wanted my 3 digit security

Expert's Assistant chat
Customer: Hi Pearl, I attempted to purchase a product on line from TVSHOP, I provided my card details but they wanted my 3 digit security number, have you had any dealings with TVSHOP?
JA: What state/territory are you in? It matters because laws vary by location.
Customer: Western Australia
JA: What steps have you taken so far?
Customer: I rang their 1800 number to purchase the product but the consultant informed me that I'd have to purchase online for the lower price AND provide the 3digit number as they don't store the data so don't worry
JA: Anything else you want the Lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: I just want to know if TVSHOP have been flagged by Consumer Affairs for unscrupulous actions thanks Pearl

I have just checked, in regards ***** ***** company in question, what I do suggest is that you focus on an Australian based company in this particular regard such as Harvey Norman or Billy guides, or one of the majors in regard to consumer warranty aspects to protect your rights.

Customer
I went on Consumer Affairs website to have a simple question answered and you haven't answered the question sent to Pearl regarding the validity of TVSHOP

I have checked the company which I details as follows:

www.TVShop.co.nz & www.TVShop.com.au (the “website”) is owned and operated Brand Developers Limited of PO Box 33604, Takapuna, Auckland 0740, New Zealand (“we”, “us” an

This company is based out of New Zealand. This means the Australian consumer law will not apply to New Zealand law. That means if you have an issue with the actual product in Australia, you're going to have to deal with the New Zealand company because that's where the head offices.

This can create problems with warranty aspect in relation to this company

I suggest that you consider purchasing directly from Australian company based in Australia.

Customer
Thanks John, all the best
